Keller’s experience in the geotechnical engineering industry is now over 155 years. Tracing its origin back to the small town of Renchen in southwest Germany where, in 1860, Johann Keller founded a company mainly to construct water wells. Drilling and grouting techniques were added in the 1920s and in the 1930s the company invented the “Vibro” process for vibro compaction of sands at depth. In the 1930’s the Holmpress Piling Company was founded in the city of Hull in northeast England. This company, along with Caledonian Foundations, was absorbed into the GKN group of companies to form GKN Foundations Limited in 1952. In 1974, the German and UK organisations, came together first as GKN Keller Ltd and then in 1989 under the present title of Keller Group PLC.

Keller Holding GmbH, Germany, is the holding company for all activities of the Keller Group plc in Europe, the Middle East, Africa and some Latin American countries (EMEA Division). The management and operations in the Middle East are overseen by the Business Unit ME (BUME) with its head office located in Dubai. Keller has been offering its services in the Middle East in the field of Geotechnical Engineering since 1973. Over the years a variety of projects have been executed in UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Qatar, Oman, Kuwait, Egypt, Iraq and Yemen.
